What is this role about?
The Construction Engineering Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the progress of projects from design through to physical execution. This includes monitoring project timelines, ensuring the proper installation of equipment, witnessing non-destructive testing, and communicating with contractors regarding updates, variations, and changes. Additionally, the role involves assessing equipment and material requirements, estimating project durations, and ensuring that the project aligns with its design and quality standards. The officer also suggests detailed design improvements and requirements based on their oversight, ensuring that the final product meets both the technical specifications and user needs.
What will YOU do?
Oversee project progress using Gantt charts and project plans to ensure timely and effective completion
Report any variations between the original design and actual construction, identifying discrepancies and suggesting corrections
Monitor and track the delivery and installation of all terminal equipment to ensure proper execution
Supervise and witness all non-destructive testing to ensure quality and compliance with standards
Serve as the primary liaison between the contractor and the project team, providing updates on progress, order changes, progress billing, and design revisions at the site
Estimate and track the overall duration of the project to ensure alignment with the project schedule
Assess and define the necessary equipment and machinery needed for project implementation, ensuring availability and proper use
Monitor and manage material availability to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of resources required for the project
Ensure that all aspects of the project meet the required standards, including design, materials, and execution
Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, status updates, and any changes to the original plans.
What will YOU need?
At least 2 years of relevant employment experience
Must a Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer
