What is this role about?
The Operations Officer is responsible for supporting the Terminal Manager/Depot Supervisor in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the terminal or depot. This includes ensuring the completion of maintenance and housekeeping programs, managing safe product movement, analyzing vessel and storage tank performance, and conducting regular inspections of operational activities. The officer ensures that staffing is optimal and operations run efficiently. Additionally, the role includes managing important documentation, responding to incidents or accidents, coordinating operational activities, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines and industry standards. The Operations Officer also serves as a key point of contact when the Terminal Manager/Depot Supervisor is absent, ensuring continuity in operations.
What will YOU do?
- Initiate, execute, and ensure the completion of the terminal or depot's maintenance and housekeeping programs, ensuring all critical assets are well-maintained and operational to avoid disruptions.
- Administer incoming and outgoing product movement activities, ensuring that they are conducted safely and in accordance with IMS and HSE requirements and assist in supervising the receipt, storage, and handling of products, materials, and assets at the terminal.
- Analyze the performance of vessels and storage tanks, identifying variances and making recommendations to prevent their recurrence and highlight and address concerns related to significant product losses or operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure that all operational activities are carried out with optimal manning assignments, addressing workforce requirements for smooth task execution while adhering to fatigue management and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections of loading, dispatching, and operational activities and perform daily rounds at the terminal to inspect key areas and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Manage the safekeeping and updating of terminal/depot-related documents, statutory permits, licenses, calibration certificates, plans, layouts, memos, and external correspondences, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Assist in responding to accidents or incidents within the terminal or depot, mitigating harm to people, assets, and the environment and take action as the on-scene commander, conduct investigations, and recommend preventive measures.
- Serve as the point of contact (POC) for the Terminal Manager/Depot Supervisor during their absence, ensuring safe and efficient terminal operations, overseeing daily activities, and supporting KPI targets, reporting, and audits.
- Coordinate all matters related to product quality, safety, vessel schedules, tank truck requirements, and engineering projects, all matters related to product quality, safety, vessel schedules, tank truck requirements, and engineering projects, ensuring smooth and timely operations and updating the team on vessel and berth availability.
- Initiate requisitions for terminal and depot-related supplies, including additives, consumables, and materials, ensuring inventory is regularly updated and replenished as required for ongoing operations.
What will YOU need?
- At least 2 years experience in the same industry
- Licensed Engineer - preferably Civil, Mechanical, o Electrical
- Willing to do fieldwork as needed
- Willing to be assigned in Mabini, Batangas
