What is this role about?
The role of a Cost Engineering Officer primarily involves preparing cost estimates for new projects and renovations, assisting in contractor evaluations, securing material costs, and managing bidding processes for SeaOil depots, terminals, and related facilities. The officer ensures that the cost estimates are accurate, assists in sourcing contractors, analyzes project timelines and plans, and monitors costs to keep projects within budget. The role also plays a key part in creating designs and bidding documents to facilitate efficient project execution.
What will YOU do?
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates for proposed SeaOil depots, terminals, and facilities based on approved designs; for renovation, rehabilitation, repair works, alterations, conversions, additions, deletions, maintenance, and demolition of existing SEAOIL depots and bulk terminals
- Secure updated material costs from the procurement department and other accredited suppliers
- Assist the procurement department in evaluating submitted bids
- Assist in identifying and sourcing local contractors when necessary to meet project requirements and budget constraints
- Analyze Gantt charts and project plans submitted by contractors to assess timelines, resources, and potential cost impacts.
- Review plans and drawings submitted by contractors to ensure they align with cost estimates and project scope
- Prepare designs for new terminal conceptualizations, ensuring designs are cost-efficient and meet project specifications
- Prepare bidding documents, including cost breakdowns and project specifications, to ensure clear communication and transparency in the bidding process
- Monitor and track project costs during execution, by providing regular updates and ensuring adherence to budget constraints
What will YOU need?
- At least 2 years of work experience in the same function
- Must be a graduate of Architecture, Engineering or any other related courses
- Must be willing to do fieldwork as necessary
