What is this role about?
The Insurance Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s insurance portfolio, ensuring that the organization has the appropriate insurance coverage to mitigate risks effectively. This involves managing insurance policies, negotiating with insurers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also includes reviewing contracts and business plans to identify potential risks that may require insurance solutions, as well as managing claims processes to ensure timely resolution. The Insurance Management Manager collaborates closely with the Risk Management Manager and other departments to assess risk exposure and ensure the company is adequately covered against emerging risks.
The Insurance Management Manager directly impacts the company's performance by ensuring that the organization’s risk exposure is minimized through comprehensive and cost-effective insurance coverage. By managing insurance policies and claims efficiently, the role helps the company avoid financial losses from unforeseen events, business disruptions, or legal liabilities. Additionally, the Insurance Management Manager plays a key role in optimizing the cost of insurance, ensuring that resources are allocated wisely without compromising on protection. This proactive risk management support enables the company to operate confidently, achieve its business objectives, and maintain stability in the face of potential disruptions, contributing to both short-term operational success and long-term strategic growth.
What will YOU do?
- Manage and optimize the company's insurance portfolio, ensuring sufficient coverage for a wide range of risks. This includes reviewing, negotiating, and renewing insurance policies as needed.
- Collaborate with the Risk Manager and departmental teams to assess organizational risk exposure and ensure that appropriate insurance coverage is in place for emerging risks.
- Review regularly existing insurance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. Evaluate coverage gaps and recommend necessary policy adjustments.
- Oversee the claims process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, monitoring their status, and working closely with external insurers to resolve issues.
- Prepare and manage budgets for insurance premiums and claims expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on the adequacy of coverage.
- Review contracts and new business plans with the Risk Manager to identify areas where insurance may be necessary, offering recommendations for risk transfer through insurance.
- Analyze emerging trends in the insurance market, advising senior management on changes in insurance requirements, costs, and coverage options.
- Provide training and resources to the organization’s employees regarding the role of insurance in mitigating business risks and how to effectively utilize insurance resources.
- Cooperate with regulatory bodies and legal teams to ensure the company’s insurance practices comply with all laws and regulations.

What will YOU need?
- Must have: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
- Nice to have: Master’s degree or MBA
- Must have: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in risk management, business continuity planning, or a related field.
- Nice to have: Relevant certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Professional (CRP), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
